In order to preserve the sustainability of our historic Church and transform it into an environmentally friendly and economically efficient building, a number of improvements have been made, under the leadership of our current and former Wardens and Vestry members. Briefly, this has involved the installation of heat pumps, insulation and energy-efficient windows and renovation of the basement hall. In addition, we continue to restore and preserve various heritage treasures such as the round window, steeple and gravestones (including one from the Halifax Explosion). Assistance by our councillor and various government funding agencies as well as fundraising activities and donations by members of the St. James’ community have allowed this important work to be done. For a detailed description of these important upgrades to the church, please see the Wardens’ Report (below).
Our renovation is completed!!!
Come and see what we have to offer the Community as a gathering space. We are planning an Open House on Saturday, November 30th. More details to follow.
