Listen, Belonging and Celebration

Today at Messy Church we learned how to listen for God and why we listen to God. Samuel said “Here I am Lord, I am Listening”. Sometimes we are so busy talking we aren’t able to listen. If we are listening to God we are able to hear what God is calling us to do.

We also learned about the church family and how many of us belong to families, a community, a group, a team, and also belong to the church family. One way of belonging to the church family is through baptism. Traditionally, we use a Font for baptisms in the church, but baptisms can also be performed in lakes, rivers...
We also had a party because that’s what we do at baptisms. We popped balloons that held questions about Baptism and how when we are baptized we are welcomed into a journey of a community of faith or church family.

We finished the afternoon with a meal together, just like a big family dinner. Thank you to all that pitched in to help in every way!
